中國人：基督教徒輒以「弟兄姊妹」相稱，何則？

中國人：我如爾弟，爾如我兄，我（這小弟）躬先（老兄）你，是謂吾「弟兄」；爾如我妹，我如爾姊，我（這阿姊）顧及（妹子）你，是謂吾「姊妹」。
越南人：敝國民俗，雖非至親，亦用「 兄（anh (trai)）」、「 弟（em trai）」、「姊（chị (gái)）」、「妹（em gái）」交陪，然不可亂次。同儕初見，長幼未敍，宜「僕（tôi）」、「伴（bạn）」互答，脩謹而諒直，人不怪也。
